Purpose:  to improve the environment and conserve natural resources in the community

Areas for consideration include:

  • Land, water, and air pollution
  • Community beautification
  • Conservation of wildlife

  • Energy conservation and generation

This project has occurred one or more times each year since 2009 on a Saturday from 9 a.m. until Noon.

ALL-SHRED provides a mobile truck for safely shredding large quantities of documents while customers watch on a monitor. 

E-End USA processes the electronic items that we collect to prevent polluting our landfills with heavy metals and toxic chemicals.  Media are securely wiped or shredded.  Computer parts are recycled where possible.

The suggested donation is $10.00 per file-size box (10”x12”x16”) or a similar-sized bag or container.  Proceeds have benefited local and global causes.

These projects occurs every year on a Saturday in the Sping on a Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Take part in keeping the 150 year-old C&O Canal beautiful. Volunteers are needed to help with vegetation removal along the C&O Canal at Lander.   Join others who care about their national parks in this worthwhile project, which is sponsored by the Lander Community Association and the C&O Canal. Refreshments will be served.

A committee of citizens drew a conceptual plan for trails to connect Jefferson communities and special places via trails for hiking and biking.  The plan was submitted to the county commissioners and approved.  For details, contact Jim Carpenter, 301-371-5263
